Position Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Accountant for the Accounting Services team, you will work as part of a group of critical thinkers to help clients understand and solve accounting issues. You will be responsible for supporting the Accounting Supervisor and other team members with client accounting, month end closures, preparing reconciliation schedules and payroll tax needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end‑to‑end accounting processes for multiple U.S. clients, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all financial outputs.
- Handle Month‑End, Quarter‑End, and Year‑End close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, flux explanations, and tie‑outs to the trial balance and financial statements.
- Prepare and review financial statements including the Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Perform detailed journal entry preparation and posting, including accruals, prepaids, deferrals, amortizations, and other adjusting entries.
- Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations across key accounts and ensure timely clearing of reconciling items.
- Execute thorough variance analysis and prepare clear flux commentary to explain period‑over‑period changes in financials.
- Prepare and validate tie‑outs between trial balance, sub‑ledgers, and client financial reports.
- Work extensively on ERPs such as Xero and QuickBooks Online (QBO) for client accounting processes.
- Manage 1099 vendor compliance, including review of W‑9 forms and supporting preparation for 1099‑NEC filings.
- Apply strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GL accounting, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, and deferrals in day‑to‑day tasks.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve accounting issues and maintain high‑quality service delivery.
- Maintain documentation, internal controls, and compliance standards to support audit readiness.
- Leverage experience from fast‑growing accounting firms (preferred) to drive best practices, accuracy, and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Background:
-Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field from an accredited university.
-Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or currently progressing towards a CPA or CA certification is a plus.
Technical Skills:
-Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as Xero and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
-Strong Advanced Excel capabilities including:
-INDEX/MATCH
-XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP
-Pivot tables
-Complex data analysis and modeling.
Accounting Knowledge:
-Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
-Proficiency in month-end close, journal entries, and GL accounting.
-Expertise in balance sheet account reconciliations.
-Ability to perform variance analysis and flux analysis for P&L and Balance Sheet.
-Experience in intercompany accounting, fixed asset management, prepaids, accruals, and deferrals.
Compliance & Tax Skills:
-Basic knowledge of Sales & Use tax processes.
-Familiarity with 1099 vendor compliance, including W‑9 collection and 1099‑NEC support.
Preferred Experience:
-Background working with fast‑growing accounting firms or outsourced client accounting environments is a strong plus.
