Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Project Lead to support the PMO function for a large-scale Data Lakehouse platform initiative. The role demands strong on-prem infrastructure knowledge, stakeholder management capability, and experience coordinating across technology, security, and operations teams in complex, multi-vendor environments — preferably within BFSI or regulated sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders (client) and implementation partners or OEM vendors.
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams across data ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption layers.
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and security and compliance standards.
  • Track project milestones, manage cross-team dependencies, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate vendor performance, validate deliverables, and manage contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and present executive-level dashboards, status reports, and steering committee updates.
  • Drive governance and ensure consistency across platform components and delivery workstreams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT programme or project management, preferably in BFSI or regulated sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Data Lakehouse concepts including data ingestion, metadata management, governance, and distributed processing.
  • Hands-on experience managing on-prem or hybrid data platform projects (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Presto/Trino, Iceberg, Delta Lake).
  • Proven track record managing large-scale, multi-vendor technology programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with data governance, security frameworks, and regulatory expectations in banking or financial services.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience in Public Sector or Government banking environments.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with business outcome focus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organisational levels.
